Corrections are the most useful thing you can send

Modding moves quickly. Loaders fork, mods get abandoned, Minecraft updates and invalidates a step that was correct last month. If a guide here tells you to do something that no longer works, that is worth knowing and it will be fixed.

Include the page URL and what specifically was wrong. “The Fabric guide says X, but the installer now does Y” is immediately actionable. “Your guide is out of date” requires a lot of guessing.

If you want help with a broken setup

Troubleshooting individual installs by email is slow and usually less effective than the alternatives, so this is worth being honest about: a Discord or a subreddit will get you a faster answer than this inbox will.

If you do write, three things make a reply possible rather than a guess:

• Your Minecraft version and which loader you installed — Fabric, Forge, NeoForge or Quilt.
• A link to your latest.log uploaded to mclo.gs, which highlights the relevant lines and strips your username from file paths.
• Roughly how many mods you have, and what you changed immediately before it broke.

Without a log, almost any answer is speculation. With one, the cause is usually obvious within a minute. The crash report guide explains how to read it yourself, which is often faster than waiting for a reply.

Mod authors

If your mod is described here and something about that description is wrong, or you would rather it were not featured at all, say so and it will be changed or removed. No argument, no negotiation.

Every download link on this site points at your own page on Modrinth or CurseForge. This site does not host, mirror or repackage mod files, and it never will.

Hosting companies and commercial enquiries

Server hosts are listed on the basis of whether they are good at modded Minecraft. Payment does not buy a listing, a position, or favourable wording, and offers to arrange otherwise will be declined.

Affiliate relationships, where they exist, are disclosed on the page carrying the link and in the site footer. That disclosure appears whether or not anyone asks for it.

What not to send here

• Guest post pitches and link insertion requests. These are declined without exception and without reply.
• Requests to remove a factual statement that is accurate. Corrections are welcome; suppression is not.
• Anything requiring account credentials, payment details or a login. Nobody here will ever ask for those, and any message claiming to be from this site that does is not.

Response times

Corrections are usually acted on within a few days because they are quick and they improve the site. General questions take longer. Some messages do not get a reply at all, which is not rudeness so much as one person and a finite amount of time.

If you sent something a fortnight ago and heard nothing, sending it again is entirely reasonable.
